Clare Coaching Forum - (Download Application Form Here) Coaching is a demanding but rewarding experience. Be it with children or adults, you really need to keep on top of your game! Clare Coaching forum is specifically aimed at coaches and sports leaders in Clare. The Clare Coaching Forum is open to any coach / manager, qualified or not, or indeed individuals that are interenerested in sport to join. From November to June, there will be different coaching related initiatives, from code of ethics to strength and conditioning to psychology. The workshops have been chosen and designed, in consultation with the development officer of each sport, to assist coaches in maintaining the high standards that they already promote, and to compliment the coaching awards that the individuals may have been awarded through their particular sport. Each of the workshops has a running cost to them ranging from €100 to €10. However, members of the forum will get them either free or at a discounted rate of up to 25%. There is a small cost to join the forum of €25 as an individual member, Clubs can also purchase 2 memberships for €20 each and county boards 6 memberships at €15 each. The club and county board memberships are transferable amongst their coaches, the individual memberships are non transferable. Genearal Coaching Infomation In Ireland, Coach Education is regulated by Coaching Ireland in partnership with the particular National Governing Body of Sport (NGB). Coaching programmes in Ireland are of international standards. They have at their core the Long Term Player Developmnet Model (LTPD). If you wish to become a coach, the simplest way to go about it is to ask your local club! If you just wish to attend a coaching course, follow the links below to the NGB coaching websites. If you cannot find a course near you, why not contact the relevant NGB. A full contact list can be viewed here. Code of Ethics All coaches working with young people are advised to attend the 4hr training workshop Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Childrens Sport (COE). This course will enhance your experience with working with young people and it will also ensure that sport is kept Fun, Safe and conducted in a spirit of Fair Play.
