Here is what it is all about!

Targets: The objective of the Meet & Train group is to provide an opportunity for women of all ages and levels of fitness to get together to exercise with like minded people under the guidance of a qualified coach.  The Meet & Train Groups are specifically aimed at women to come run or walk with other women in a non competitive basis, promoting the message that physical activity is not only good for you but that it also can be fun

Main Components of Meet & Train

Ÿ        Fun with health benefits

Ÿ        Non competitive

Ÿ        A social occasion

Ÿ        Supportive

Plan

The warm-up takes 10 to 15 minutes.  This section of the training incorporates the whole group exercising together regardless of ability or fitness.  This is a very gentle form of exercise -walking/jogging, and mobilising all the joints while moving.  The group then form a circle where a series of stretches are preformed.  This promotes a sense of comradery and a sense of belonging.

The Core section:

This is 30 minutes of continuous movement.   The ladies are split into groups depending on their initial levels of fitness.  Group 1 is for the walkers.  Group 2 is for walkers that wish to progress to jogging and group 3 is for those with greater levels of fitness that wish to train at a higher intensity.

Warm Down:  Again the group all meet together for the final 10 minutes.  This is again very gentle form of exercise.  The group walk together for 5 minutes and finish with some gentle stretching.  Again this is done as a group to re-enforce the sense of belonging to a group.
